One Miami man brazenly snatched a baseball from a little girl at a baseball game in Miami on Wednesday, apparently unaware that his outrageous interception was caught on camera.
During a Marlins versus Brewers game, one Milwaukee player kindly threw a ball into the stands – straight towards an excited young girl and little boy wearing a glove.
As the ball heads for the youngsters, a grown man shamelessly barges in front of them and steals the ball before they can reach it.
The married man proceeds to celebrate getting the ball and bounds off with a beaming smile, completely ignoring the distraught girl. The robbed girl sticks out her bottom lip sulkily and seems on the brink of tears.
Thankfully, others in stadium were more sympathetic to the young fan’s plight.
But the girl, who was later identified as Emily Martin, determined to not give up on getting a ball.
Between innings, the fourth grader set about drawing attention to herself in the hopes of getting a ball by performing a dance and waving her arms in the air.
Her ruse worked and another ball was tossed to her. And this time, no one dived in to snatch the ball.
In an interview about the debacle, Emily confessed that she was upset when the man stepped in and stole her ball.
The fourth-grader added that it was her ‘dream’ to get a ball.
‘She comes to all of the games hoping to get a ball and if she doesn’t, she cries all the way home,’ Emily’s mother added.
